Well it has been a while since an update. God has been GREAT to us and we are humbled to be in his ministry. Since our last post, we have a new lead singer!! Mr. Jeremy Kesley from Ooltewah, TN is singing the lead part for 2x2 Quartet. We love Jeremy, his wife Dominique, and daughter Chloe and his family, and we welcome them to our family! God has been opening some new doors for us, and allowing us to visit some friends as well! We have seen souls SAVED, and lives changed in the past few months, and it has been WONDERFUL!! James Lawson a good friend- Family member passed away Monday. His wife Sherie and he came to just about every 2x2 concerts that there was. He went as far as the middle of South Carolina just her us.He lived as a Christian and attened Clingan Ridge Baptsit chuch He is a person that people should try to live there life after. He was a good man, a good husband , good father , and a good friend and will be missed by The 2x2 Quartet.

Two Groves and God

The 2x2 Quartet had a great time this past weekend. Our first stop was Walnut Grove Baptist Church where the Lord was dealing. Everybody was shouting the pastor started to preach while we where singing, people were going to the alter. We just had a fantastic service!
That nite we headed to Maple Grove Baptist Church we had a good time. The 2x2 Quartet cant wait until the next post.

Hallow Him And Good Soup

This Saturday was a great day for singing.That morning was a normal thing for the group it was our fourth time singing at the hallow him singing.We sung but it seamed that song Excuses got everybody's funny bone. That Nite Hixon,Tn was our next stop ,Dividing Ridge Church Of God
had a good spirit in the place. The place also had good soup! Ummm!!! God Bless!! Untill Next Time.

We had a great singing Sunday at the Philadelphia Baptist Church Homecoming service! The people there always make us feel welcome, and they love to praise the Lord! It was a sad/happy service for 2x2 Quartet. This was Jons last service with us as the Lead singer for the group. It was also Colby's first service as the Baritone singer for the group. Jon did wonderful as usual and lifted the Lords name thru song, then he passed the microphone to Colby half way thru and Colby did a wonderful job as well! It always amazes me at how God works in this ministry! Colby is going to do an outstanding job with this group and we are ready to sing!!!!! We are in the studio working on a new project and it is sounding great! The new songs are sounding great and we pray they will touch the hearts of those who hear them! It is our prayer that someone will come to know the Lord as their personal Savior thru this project! We look forward to seeing you all at a singing in the future and be sure to come by and welcome Colby to the 2x2 family!

CELEBRATE FREEDOM!

FRIDAY, JULY 2, 2010

Friday night we had the privilege to sing with The Dixie Melody Boys. We were at Graysville United Methodist Church in Graysville, Tn.

The pastor and all there had a wonderful time as we celebrated the 4th of July, with some great Southern Gospel music!

Ed O'Neal and the Melody Boys did a masterful job as they took the stage. Ed is still one of the smoothest bass singers around! Great job guys!

SATURDAY, JULY 3, 2010

Saturday afternoon we were at Anchor of Hope Baptist Church, in Rossville, Ga. They were putting on a fund raiser for a 5 year old child in their church. Good turn out. Thank you Pastor for letting us be a part of your program.

SUNDAY, JULY 4, 2010

Freedom Fest in Cleveland, Tn. This is an annual event that has been going on for the past 13 years and it gets better every year!

Pastor Sears and the folks at Mount Olive Church of God did a masterful job of organizing and carrying out this event.

As usual there were plenty of vendors and lots of things to do for the kids and adults! Pastor Gary and James we appreciate you inviting 2x2 to be a part of this great family oriented celebration. The groups were great and the fireworks were very good!

I even met a couple and their children from Moultrie, Ga. that were camping in the area and they came by to check out the festivities.

If you did not attend don't forget it next year!!

Saturday we were at Meadow Fork Baptist Church and what a meeting we had! The folks there always makes us feel at home, and when the singing started God was moving! We want to say Thank You to all the folks and the Pastor at Meadow Fork for opening their doors for us to sing!

SUNDAY JUNE 27TH , 2010

Sunday was homecoming at Cambria Baptist church in Delano, Tn. and we were blessed to be there to minister to Pastor Eddie's flock.
What a powerful time as the altar was filled many times with people meeting God there to pray, repent and praise the Lord! There was even one saved that morning and it was one of the deacons!Praise God! He testified that he had been living a lie for 35 years and knew that he needed to get right with God. What a wonderful time!
The ladies of the church out did themselves with the wonderful meal they prepared for homecoming! YUM!YUM! Thanks ladies for your gift of love!

Sunday night we were at Old Salem Baptist. Another great time of praise to the Lord! Thanks for having us Pastor!

We have a busy weekend coming for the weekend of the 4th of July. We are singing with the Dixie Melody Boys Friday night in Dayton, Tn. and Saturday afternoon we are in Rossville, Ga.
Then Sunday we will be at the Freedom Fest in Cleveland, Tn. We anticipate a great turnout as usual for Sunday. Best fireworks in the area!!! Hope to see you there.

Sunday morning we were at Cedar Rock Church in Jackson, Ga. and it was homecoming!
Well you just have to experience Cedar Rock! Pastor Jim is without a doubt, one of the best preachers that I have ever heard! What a powerful message he gave this morning ! The service was awesome, the preaching, the singing, and the meal were all outstanding!! Thanks Pastor Jim and all the folks that always make our time there so enjoyable.
Special thanks to Lynn and her husband and her parents for opening their homes and hearts to 2x2. We love all of you at Cedar Rock and look forward to returning to your church!!

Sunday night we were at New Beginnings with Pastor Tyson Roache and his lovely wife, who is celebrating her healing!! Praise God!! For those of you who have been praying for her, she is in remission.PTL!!!
As usual, Pastor Tyson and all the folks at NBC were ready to worship and praise the Lord!! We had a powerful time of ministry in the Word and in singing, God was awsome in presence and in power!

RELAY FOR LIFE

A cause that is dear to all of our hearts is Relay for Life, The American Cancer Society.
We were happy to give our time to help them raise funds.
We had a great time listening to the other groups and participating in the silent auction.
This event was held at the Middle School of Meigs County, in Decatur, TN. Great job by all involved.

Sunday February 28th. What a joy it was to go back to Five Points Baptist in Decatur, TN.
Pastor Stan Cantrell as always was wound up and ready to worship. Brother we do so enjoy being at your church.
What a joy to see God moving in His peoples lives, as time and again the altars were filled with broken and weeping men and women seeking God's face to meet their needs!
Please remember to pray for Brother Stans son, he is having tests done to find out what is wrong with his feet. He cannot bear to put socks on his feet because of the horrible pain. Please petition God for his healing!
We love you and your family and church Brother Stan.

Sunday February 21, 2010 we were at The Church of Niota singing and praising the Lord. We had a wonderful time and after the service the wonderful had prepared a great meal for all in attendance.
I got a phone call that really made my day, my wife called and told me that my oldest son and all of my grand children had been saved that morning! HALLELUJAH!! What a Savior!!!Glory to God!! We have been praying for a long time and God is always faithful to hear and answer in His time!

Sunday night we were at Everlasting Life Baptist Church, did we have a time. Thank you pastor for inviting us back!

Sunday morning we were at a new Church, Cornerstone Church in Etowah, TN.,only two weeks old!
For such a new work , they had a really good turn out!
The service was very moving and several decisions were made!
I even found that I am related to the pastors wife. Small world!
Thank you pastor for having us come to your church. Those of you who live in the Etowah area should visit them if you are looking for a church to go to work in.

Sunday night we were at Joy's Harvest Church in Madisonville, TN.
What a wonderful night of praise and worship we enjoyed. Pastor you are blessed with a wonderful congregation.

We were delighted to sing for our favorite Charity, Relay for Life, The American Cancer Society at Mt Olive Church of God.
We had a marvelous time and we were pleased to be able to share the stage with The Sipes Family. These guys are good and very real, go hear them if you get a chance.
Relay raised a good amount of money for a great cause.
We will be singing for another Relay in Meigs County in March. Hope you can join us to help them raise funding.

We were welcomed at 3rd Street Baptist Church, Maryville, TN., by the remnants of snow and the pastor, Steve Hickman.
We had a great service! Ain't God good?!

Sunday evening we were at Notchey Creek Baptist Church just outside of Madisonville, TN.
We were so blessed to be a part of this service ! Man did God show up!!
The altar was full most of the service, wave after wave of people kept coming to do business with the Lord!
Before the service was over, there were three young people came forward and trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior!!!!!
Their pastor, Gale Miller, is an outstanding pastor and is in touch with his people and God! Thank you pastor for allowing us to come and minister with you!

Happy New Year!

Another year has come and gone, and what glorious blessings we all have received last year.
2x2 is looking for another blessed year this new year, and we pray that all of you will be blessed beyond measure!
Pray for us this year that God will send us souls for our labor, and a greater sensitivity to the Spirit of the Lord!
We want to thank God for 2009 and praise Him for 2010!

THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

WOW! It is hard to believe that I have been with 2x2 for a whole year now! Well time does fly when you are having fun. Teresa and I want to thank all of the group and our extended family for making this year such a blessed and satisfying one! We have felt so at home and so loved by all of you that support and follow us! Thank you and God bless you!

I was in one of the major stores in our area the other day, and I wished my cashier , Merry Christmas. Her reply was Happy Holidays. Well there are a lot of holidays this time of year and I felt it was my duty to wish her a Merry Christmas again. I got the same reply!

I was told later that this particular store does not allow its employees to say Merry Christmas. How sad that corporations will go out of their way to not offend some one. This year in Maryville, someone protested that the Christmas story was to be read from Luke 2, and being the courageous souls that city officials can be, they decided not to read scripture for their Christmas ceremony. I think they also changed it to a Holiday celebration. What conviction! Hang the legalities, read the Word! The reason that people get upset about the Word being read, is that they are convicted by God's Word being proclaimed! We believers need to remember that the reason we celebrate Christmas is because our Redeemer was born this season two thousand years ago and He is still saving and healing and delivering those who call upon His name TODAY!!!

Now more that ever we need to be reminded why we celebrate Christmas and proclaim the Good News of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ!!

For unto to us is born, this day, a Savior which is Christ the Lord!! What a wonderful promise, and what a wonderful Savior! Thank you Jesus!

We have a charge to Go Tell! Let us be about the Father's business!!

All of us in 2x2 want to wish you and all of your families a very blessed and Merry Christmas!!
Thank you for all of your prayers and support! All of us in 2x2 would like thank our families for all the love and support that you extend to us throughout the year! We love you!

By the way, Teresa got a report on Cole, the 7 year old that had a stroke. The Doctors are not offering much hope for him. His family needs a Christmas miracle, pray that God will raise Cole up to bring glory to the Father!

Sunday morning we were at Thompson Springs Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. Pastor Joe White and his congregation are going through a trial of fire, literally! Last week the church building was destroyed by a fire and all of their records and historical data was destroyed.

Jeff called Pastor Joe and told him we could reschedule at a later date, but he insisted that we come and sing in spite of the circumstance. Taylor Elementary is letting them meet in their gym until the new sanctuary is finished. The new sanctuary had already been started, and is about three months away from completion.

The service was absolutely powerful and the gym was full! The members were crying, rejoicing and praising God for His wonderful presence and His incredible provision! Many area churches donated hymn books, altars, pulpits, and one local business man donated $10,000 dollars to the church. What a wonderful God we serve! AMEN!!

We know that this is difficult for Pastor Joe and the members of Thompson Springs Baptist, but we and they know that God is sovereign and that He means this to them for good!

We are expecting to keep hearing about more and more miracles from this blessing! We love all of you at Thompson Springs.

Sunday night we were at Center Point Baptist Church outside of Calhoun, TN. Pastor Johnny Underwood is one more character and he kept us all on our toes as he blessed us with his wit and humor. Not only that he is a man of God!

The service was powerful and God really moved in His people. We look forward to singing there again! Thank you Pastor for asking us to come and be part of your ministry!

We were at White Oak Baptist Church in Hixson, TN. tonight. Butch Manning and his lovely wife put together this singing and did we have a time.

We were blessed to share the evening with Mallory Ledford and The Men of Calvary. What a delight it was to be part of this wonderful night. Mallory and The Men of Calvary sure did bless out hearts.

We were all blessed with some outstanding food prepared for us all. Butch you sure are one blessed man to have a wonderful wife like her!

Thank you to all that made this evening a great success! 2x2 hopes to be able to sing with these artists again in the future!

Sunday, November 1st, we had the distinct privelege to sing at Mount Olive Church of God, in Cleveland, TN. Jeff and I committed to each other that it felt like we had returned home, since he and I were once members of Mt. Olive.

We were greeted by J.T. Jones who was one of the ones responsible for inviting us to come and minister at Mt. Olive. Two other committee members, Glynn Duncan and Warren Sipe, were there as well. These three are no strangers to Southern Gospel as they have all sang and played this wonderful music most of their lives.

The service was filled with the presence of God! What a wonderful time we all had praising God!
Senior Pastor Gary Sears was unable to attend because of a sinus infection. If you know Pastor Sears you know he had to be very sick to miss church. Please pray for Brother Gary that God will heal him and restore his health! I know that He will!

Pastor James Sears was there to carry and did a wonderful job! I'm telling you that had to be one of the very best services that we have had all year! God is Awesome, Wonderful, Omnipotent, Holy, Hallelujah!

I think I was as blessed as anyone else that was there! Glory!

Several churches in the Decatur, Tennessee area get together every year and have a festival to celebrate Jesus instead of Halloween. This is without a doubt a wonderful evening for all the family and the kids can get all the hot dogs and candy that they can possibly eat and carry.
There was also other fun things for the children of all ages to do.
Best of all there was good gospel singing from various groups from the area. We were blessed to be invited once again to join the festivities. Thanks to all the churches, pastors and all who made this event possible and a huge success!
The best thing is that one of the young folks that attended there Saturday night, accepted Christ as his Savior!! Glory to God!!!!!!!
I hope that we get to attend next year!
Just remember that Jesus is the reason for all seasons!

Sunday, August 30th,2009.
Faith Baptist in Decatur, TN. was our morning destination.
Pastor Mike Couch and his congregation welcomed us with open arms and hearts.
It was evident that the people had been praying and preparing their hearts for this service.
The altars were full several times as God moved in the hearts of His people. Thank God that people are still sensitive to the move of the Holy Spirit!

Sunday evening we were at Chestuee Baptist, in Calhoun, Tn. Gary Moats is the pastor at Chestuee and is doing a fine job of growing his church.
It was heart warming to see God's people praising and worshipping with their whole hearts.

Saturday, August 29th.
We stepped back in time Saturday and found ourselves at a good ole' fashioned brush arbor meeting. The setting was absolutely beautiful, and the air was charged with the power of God!
The Ramseys sang and then we took the stage and what a time we had! Jeff was delivering a powerful Word even before the evangelists came to speak.
Brother Coe, the pastor of Covenant Baptist in Chattanooga, Tn. was the speaker that night and he did a marvelous job.
Dayton Mountain rang with singing and preaching that night. How exciting to be a part of this evening!
Thanks Brother Donnie for having us come and be a part of this wonderful event.

Sunday, August 23rd.
Sunday morning we were at Sanford Baptist Church, just outside Riceville, TN. Pastor Kevin Teague and his congregation were having Homecoming. They invited former pastor Floyd Boggess to come and deliver the Word for their Homecoming service. Great job, Brother Boggess. After the preaching service we all retired to the dining hall and had a wonderful meal! Thanks to all the folks who prepared the food!
After the meal, Pastor turned the service over to 2x2. The Spirit was moving and the altar was again filled as God moved in His peoples hearts. Praise God!
Jeff even had Pastor Kevin up doing the rain dance! Hallelujah!! Thanks Pastor Kevin for being a good sport and a wonderful host!

Sunday evening we traveled to Jones Memorial Church in Rossville, GA. Acting Pastor Bill Henderson greeted us with open arms, and turned us loose. What a wonderful time! We were delighted to see Mike Saylors there! Mike had a stroke in May of this year and the doctors told him he would never walk again! Well Praise God he walked into the building and up 14 stairs without his walker! He has been walking for about 3 weeks now! Can you see the doctors scratching their heads? God is good all the time!!!!!!! Mike will be running laps before too long! Just remember folks, nothing is too hard for God!!!! No nothing!!! Glory to God!! You folks keep praying for our friend Bonnie, God is moving in her behalf, so you pray for her . We will provide more information as it becomes available.

RAIN DANCE TIME!

Unity Gospel, Graysville, Tn. It has been reported that there were rain clouds reported over this church after Jeff and Pastor did the rain dance.
Amazingly Pastor was able to keep up with Jeff and they both were very proficient at the Rain Dance.
Showers of blessings broke out as God began to move and the altars once again, were filled. It was great seeing God moving in His people's hearts and changing lives.
Thank you Pastor for inviting to be part of your homecoming. And a great big God Bless You to all those that fixed food. Fantastic grub!!

SINGING ON THE RIVER

Saturday, August 15th
That's right we were singing on the river! The Hiwassee River ,that is! We were graciously invited to sing at Hiwassee Outfitters. Tina, and the folks at the eatery at the Outfitters invited us to come and sing on the deck. The weather was sunny and hot! But we still gave it our best and sang to the glory of God!
Did I mention that is was hot there? Anyway, we still enjoyed being there with the group Still Blessed.
Thanks Tina! Boy Tina serves up some mighty fine vittles and funnel cakes. You can ask Jeff and Daniel about the funnel cakes. They sure looked dandy!

Sunday, August the 2nd we were at Fairview Baptist Church in Ringold, Georgia.
Pastor Chambers rolled out the red carpet, literally! What a great group of folks!
God moved and may were blessed. And to top it off, this was their homecoming! Pass the biscuits please!
Thank you Pastor Chambers for your holy hospitality!

Sunday evening, we were at Lighthouse Ministries in beautiful downtown Cleveland, Tennessee. Folks you have to get the picture, this church will only hold about 40 people, at most. But the place was packed and God showed up and the atmosphere was absolutely charged with God's presence and His power.
The Lord showed Himself mighty as He ministered to His people meeting many needs. There were 2 men there who had recently been laid off from their jobs and God ministered to them and their families wondrously! Please pray for these families during these difficult times. Remember, God is able to deliver you in your time of trouble. Amen!
The Pastor at Lighthouse Ministries is Buck Beavers and his wife Nancy. Jack, Jan and Jay Falls are a very large part of this ministry, and they minister in music. And Jay has started ministering the Word recently! Preach on Brother! Thanks for having us Pastor Buck and all the members at Lighthouse Ministries!
You never know when God is going to use you to touch someone else's life . So, be ready in season and out of season! In other words, all the time!

Sunday morning we were at Shiloh Baptist Church, Decatur, TN. The Pastor and his wife were gone on a missions trip and we had the whole service. Jeff preached and there were several decisions made at the altar.

What a time we had! Thank you Brother Roger for making us feel right at home!

Sunday night we were again in Meigs County at Five Points Baptist Church. What a time! Oh my Lord what a time!
From beginning to end the altars were filled with people making all kinds of decisions. Two were a young man and a young lady who gave their hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ! Hallelujah!!!
Brother Stan you better tie a knot in that rope and hang cause revival is coming.
Brother Stan is a great guy and a great preacher! Thanks Brother Stan for asking us to come to Five Points, we had as good a time as anyone did!Praise God!

Please pray for these two young people who got saved Sunday night. They need your prayer support!

I almost forgot, we were at Echoes of Mercy Baptist Church Saturday at a fund raiser. The congregation is raising money to send Pastor Daniel White and his wife to the Holy Lands.
The Weeks Family and several locals singers were there with us, man what a great time!

Pastor Ray Hughes was there to unlock the doors for us Sunday and he more than gracious to us. Brother Ray has only been pastoring here for about one month, talk about your honeymoon!
Some of you may know Brother Ray from his singing group, The Hughes Family.
We all had a glorious time in the service and many came forward and were blessed beyond measure as God ministered to them! Hallelujah!!
And if that wasn't enough, the folks at the church had prepared a meal after the service was over, and man oh man was it ever goooood!

God is Good! All the time! And all the time, God is Good!
Well we went to New Hope Baptist expecting God to move, and we were not disappointed!
The altars were filled several times and God moved and answered His peoples cries!
Pastor Bill Pearman and his congregation opened their church and their hearts to God as we sang His praises! Thank you Brother Bill for your gracious hospitality toward us. Such a glorious time of outpouring of the Holy Spirit! We didn't want to quit, this was a homecoming, and we had to partake of the excellent food! You know that's right!!!
Thanks to all who prepared food! Just a marvelous meal!
We look forward to seeing all the folks at New Hope in the future!

Sunday morning we were blessed to be at Beacon Baptist Church, in Cleveland, TN. What a wonderful time of praise and worship we had with the congregation of Beacon Baptist.
The Spirit of God was definitely in the house from the first song to the last and the altars were filled several times as people came to do business with the Lord God. What a sweet and inspiring time we all had that day.

Sunday morning found us at Pope Avenue Baptist Church, in Athens, TN. Pastor Van Elkins and his congregation greeted us with open arms and hearts. Alma Elkins, Pastor Van's mother, was there and was a delight to see after many years. She is just as sweet as she ever was.
The Lord ministered to members and visitors, and we were all blessed to be in God's presence.
Thank you Pastor Van and all the great folks at Pope Avenue Baptist for your inviting us to come minister to you . God Bless you all!

Sunday evening we were making a return visit to Manilla Chapel Baptist Church, in Englewood, TN. Pastor Doug Coleman and his flock were ready to worship when we started singing. What a wonderful time we had praising God and fellow shipping in Christ.
We were passed over by an intense storm, once again God kept us safe till the storm passed us by. Praise God for His watch care. God is good all the time and all the time God is good!

God has blessed us with a new vehicle and we will be unveiling it soon! Again God has blessed us beyond measure and we are absolutely hilarious with praise! Keep watching as we will post pictures in the near future!

HEAVEN CAME DOWN !

Sunday morning we had the privelege to minister at New Liberty Baptist Church , in Birchwood, TN. What a wonderful welcome Pastor James and his congregation extended to us. We sang and ministered to these folks and oh what love we felt from the Savior and the members of New Liberty.
We were concerned that we were not going to be able to be there because Jeff spent most of Saturday night in the ER with a kidney stone attack. We could tell he was in terrible pain even after taking pain medication. What determination to serve our wonderful Savior! Please pray for Jeff as he will have the stone removed Tuesday! We sure love Jeff and admire his courage in the Lord!

Sunday evening we were at Ooltewah Church of God. in Ooltewah, TN. Jeff was still in pain and heavily medicated, but after 3 to 4 songs the anointing came on Jeff and us all, and we went to meeting! I am still getting Jesus measles just thinking about how God moved in that service! What a powerful time of praise and worship! Who says you can't praise God with Southern Gospel music? Whoever said that is dead wrong , cause 2x2 , the Pastor and the whole congregation was praising God at the top of their voices! Hallelujah!!!
Thanks to the churches pastor, Edmund Stallings and all of the people for worshipping with us!

What a pleasure it was to be at Southview Baptist Church last Sunday morning. Pastor Rob Works sure made us feel welcome. The Sunday School topic was shouting and boy everyone sure did pay attention to the teacher!
The altars stayed full from the first song until the last song! People were praying and shouting and making new commitments to the Lord!
We sure did enjoy praising God with Pastor Rob and his congregation. Thanks for having us Pastor! What a blessing to see God's people having such a blessed time.

HOMECOMING!!!

SUNDAY, MAY 24, 2009. What a glorious time of praise, worship, and renewal we had at Cookson Creek Baptist Church last Sunday morning! The altars were full most of the service, people rededicating their lives, confessing sin, and drawing nigh to God!
Pastor Rick was his usual shy, reserved self! NOT! He was constantly encouraging his people to come to the altars to revive their relationship with the Father.
And to top off this incredible service, this was HOMECOMING! The food was outstanding! What a wonderful group of folks and what great cooks!

MOTHERS DAY

We were off April 10th for Mother's Day. We all needed the time with our wives and family!
We do praise God for our Mothers whether they are still with us or with the Lord! And we also thank God for the Mothers of our children. There is no way that we could make it without our wives and Mothers.
I praise God for the wonderful Godly influence that my Mom had on my life. I wish you were still here Mom, but I know that you are with the Father and my Dad so I don't want you to come back to the pain and sickness.
To all the Moms that have passed, we miss very much and eagerly await the day that we will see you and all those that have gone on home before us.
Hope that you and your family had a great Mothers Day, and we look forward to seeing you somewhere out there at a church or singing somewhere.

We were truly blessed to be invited to sing at the revival services that went on at Greenwood Baptist this week. Pastor Ray Williams from Red Bank was the revivalist and he did a magnificent job! Brother Ray , just know that you were used of God this week! He truly delivered a word from God.

Sunday morning found us at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church outside of Charleston,TN.
We received a warm, wonderful reception from Pastor Hugh Bryan and his parishoners. The service was great and by the way this was their homecoming. What a spread! Rumor has it that one of the members of 2x2 has Butterfinger cake running in his veins still! Eat hearty boys!
We were invited to come back next year for Homecoming and we look forward to it!
Sunday night we were at Community Chapel Church of God in Cleveland, TN. Ron Leslie is the pastor this fine church. These folks know how go to meeting. God was really moving in the service and several people made decisions that night.

To say that we all had a wonderful time would be an understatement! Brother Rymer would get excited and preach a while and then we sang a while! We would sing and he would preach. Oh my Lord what a time!

4TH ANNUAL ANNIVERSARY SINGING!

The Journey Church, Cleveland, TN. April 18th, 2009.
All I can say is Praise God!!! What a great evening !
Great singing, wonderful food and generous hearts!
Our 4th Anniversary was a definite success. We had a blessed time of worship and we also raised a rather substansial amount of money for our project this year, which was to raise monies for Alex Belcher, a 10 year old boy who has Cerebral Palsy and a seizure disorder. Alex and his mom, Mandi Handy , are going to an ability camp this August and we wanted to help them get there.
We took a love offering and sold food after the singing, and all the money went to Alex. The grand total at this time is over $1700.
To all of you who gave, thank you and may God Bless you real good!
We also want to thank Pastor Tony Spencer and all the folks at the Journey Church for allowing us to use the wonderful new facility at the Journey Church of Cleveland. Thank you Brother Tony.
We would like to thank all who served the food and all who prepared the food as well. Talk about good vittles! Yum yum!
Thanks Colby and Jennifer for allowing God to use your talents and gifts to bless others. Words cannot express what it meant to have you with us Saturday night.

What a pleasure it was to be at Cedar Rock Church in Jackson, GA. this weekend. The folks at Cedar Rock Church really opened their hearts and some of them even opened their homes to us this weekend. What a great bunch of folks!
The Sunday morning service was fantastic and Pastor Jim delivered the best sermon on Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem that I have ever heard. Thank you Pastor for listening to God!
A special thanks to all the ladies and gentlemen that prepared food for the meal following the service.
That evening we were in Griffin, GA. at the New Beginnings Church. Pastor Tyson and his co-pastor and wife, Robin have built a wonderful church there, and I'm not talking about the building. Be of good cheer Pastor Tyson, God is working in your behalf to increase your church. A time of great increase is coming , SOON!
God moved in the service and we certainly felt HIS mighty hand touch us all! Praise God for wonderful and powerful presence!
Don't forget our 4th Anniversary Singing April 18th, at The Journey Church in Cleveland, TN. The singing will start at 6:00 pm and Colby Goforth and Jennifer Slack will be there with us. There will be food and drinks available after the singing. All proceeds will go to Alex Belcher, a 10 year old boy who has Cerebral Palsy and a seizure disorder. Sunday night found us at Abundant Blessings Assembly of God, in Athens, TN. Aunt Alice even showed up and she really enjoyed the service. Powerful night!

What a great day to serve the Lord Jesus Christ! Our day started at Bethel Baptist Tabernacle, in Cleveland, Tn. Man these folks know how to have church! Thanks Pastor and all of your people we were very blessed to be with you there!
Our day ended at Meadow Fork Baptist Church in Charleston, Tn.
We just singing along and God showed up and did what only He can do. Travis, the son of Danny and Rita, two of our long time and faithful supporters, came to know Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord that night. Mom and Dad and many friends and 2x2 have been praying for Travis for a long time. HALLELUJAH! But God did not stop there! Two young men from the church got saved a little later in the service! WHAT AN AWESOME GOD WE SERVE! Thanks to the pastor and his wonderful congregation for allowing us to minister to them.

LITTLE IS MUCH WHEN GOD IS IN IT!How true that was last Saturday night at Temple Grove Baptist Church. We had the great privilege to minister to these folks Saturday night. This was a small church with a GREAT BIG HEART. We were blessed just to be there!Sunday morning we were at Lakeview Wesleyan Church in Rossville, Georgia. Brother Myron and his wife and congregation were wonderful hosts and allowed us to minister freely. We were glad to be with them once again! Ladies of the church we give you a hearty "God bless you" for the incredible food! Thank you so much for your gracious hospitality!God really showed up and showed out Sunday night at Graysville Baptist Church in Graysville, Georgia. The Spirit of God was moving mightily , as people's lives were changed for the Glory of God! Thank you pastor for allowing us to minister to you and your people.Pray for 2x2 as we will be in Cleveland, Tennessee this coming weekend at Bethel Baptist Church, in the morning service and at Meadow Fork Baptist Church in Calhoun, Tennessee, Sunday evening.

FOURTH ANNUAL ANNIVERSARY SINGING

We have just confirmed that we are going to have our Fourth Anniversary Sing at The Journey Church in Cleveland, Tennessee, on South Lee Highway, April 18, 2009, at 6:oo pm.

We have a stellar line up for that evening. Opening our program will Colby Goforth, a young man from the Cleveland area who has been singing for the Lord since he was only 5 years old. Despite his age Colby has an impressive resume. He has an ongoing solo career and has filled in for 2x2 and other groups. You will definitely enjoy hearing this young man sing praise to Lord!

Also, we have been blessed to have Jennifer Slack sing for this evening. If you have never heard Jennifer, you are really in for a BLESSING! She is one of the premier female Christian singers in this area of the world. Prepare to have your socks blessed off!! Jennifer is also a delightful person and I know that all of you will enjoy hearing her song stylings and meeting her as well.

Finally, 2x2 Quartet will close the evening by singing some of our new material for you. If you haven't heard 2x2 lately, you are in for a totally new sound. With the addition of our new tenor, our sound has changed completely. We hope to see you there!

A love offering will be received, not for the groups, but for Alex Belcher, a young man of 10 years of age, who has cerebral palsy and a seizure disorder.
Alex's mom and dad, Mandy and Bill Handy, are raising money to be able to send Alex to a camp where he will learn how to do some things for himself and hopefully to gain some speech skills. Alex and his family are excited about the possibilities that this experience will afford him. Please come prepared to bless and be blessed April 18th.

The New Year has started off well with 2x2 Quartet! We have a new Tenor and his name is Chris Elrod! Chris has been singing for many years and is an excellent Tenor singer!!! He really brings a new sound to 2x2 along with a wonderful Spirit as well! We know you will enjoy meeting Chris and his wife and welcoming them into the 2x2 Quartet Family! We have been working on some new songs and they are wonderful! We also have some new video clips up as well.

To Start the year off we had a singing at Unity Church of God in Cleveland and it was wonderful! The Spirit was there all night! The weekend we had a singing at Honestville Baptist Church in Ooltewah, Tn. The next weekend we were at Nanaburg Church in Englewood, Tn and then at Unicoi Baptist Church on Sunday Morning and Long Ridge Baptist Church on Sunday Night in Tellico, Tn. That's right it's Christmas time already! We want to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas, and remember to keep Christ in Christmas! We had a wonderful weekend before taking time to be with the families during Christmas. We started Saturday Night at Parkway Baptist Church and we had a wonderful service. Chris Elrod is singing Tenor for us and let me tell you he did a wonderful job! Don't take my word for it come to a singing and see for yourself! On Sunday we had two wonderful services at Cookson Creek Baptist and Tennga Baptist Church! This whole weekend the alters were filled and the spirit was moving! We give God ALL the PRAISE! First we would like to say a BIG Thank You to Colby, Dale, and Vicki Goforth! Colby has been helping us out on some Saturday singings and full weekend singings that Tyson was needing off. He did a wonderful job and really has a talent for the Lord! Thanks Colby and we look forward to singing with you in the future!

We also want to wish each and everyone of you a Very Happy Thanksgiving! We should be thankful of all the blessings God has brought into each of our lives! We as a group give him Thanks for the Ministry, Supportive Families, and Wonderful Friends like each of you! We also give him Honer and Glory for all the lives changed thru this Ministry he has allowed us to be a part of! Be sure and give the Lord Thanks each and every day in your life! He is worthy!!!!

We have been having some wonderful services! The Lord is truly blessing! Keep us in your prayers as we continue to follow the Lords guidance in this Ministry! South Carolina!!!!!

This weekend we took our first trip to South Carolina and it won't be our last! We had a wonderful time there, and the church has already booked us for their Homecoming next year! The Spirit was there at both services, and the people were great! They really made us feel right at home there! Sunday morning a Girl got saved!!!!! Praise the Lord!!!!!! After the service we had Homecoming dinner and let me tell you these folks can cook as well!!!! The smoked BBQ chicken was wonderful along with the fixings and desserts! We want to say Thank You to all and we look forward to seeing you again!!! Colby filled in as Tenor this weekend and did a wonderful Job! Tyson was needing some Saturdays off and we appreciate Colby for stepping up to the task at hand! Thanks Colby we Love you Brother!!!!

We had a wonderful service on Sunday morning! The Lord Blessed the service in many ways! Then the food afterwards was AWESOME! Wonderful Weekend!!!

We had a wonderful weekend this week! First we started it off Friday night at a Benefit Singing for Corey Myers in Cleveland, Tn. We had a wonderful night and met many new friends there!

We took Saturday off to finish up the new Project and let me tell you it is the BEST so far! We also had a weekend to watch our favorite Collage teams play and everyones lost but Jeffs! Tyson is a Tennessee fan and they lost, Jon is a USC fan and they Lost, and Daniel is a Georgia fan and they lost to Jeffs team Alabama! Roooolllllll Tiiiiiidddddeeeee! It is good we can have fun and enjoy ourselves during this time!

On Sunday we were at Daniel's inlaws Church in Dayton, Tn and the Lord really moved there! We had a wonderful service and a wonderful meal afterwards! On Sunday Night we traveled to Graysville, Tn and the Group did some singing and preaching! Tyson brought the message that night and he did a GREAT job! The alters filled and after the preaching they had a healing prayer service in the alter and the Holy Spirit move thru the house! Wow what a blessing it was!!!

Well it has been a while since our last post! We have had some wonderful services! God is truly blessing the group in way we just could not Imagine. We seen 1 Saved and 2 Re dedications last Sunday at Unicoi Baptist in Telico, Tn, and had a wonderful meeting at Cambria Baptist in Delano, Tn. God has blessed the group with a sound man that will be traveling with us and learning our sound. His name is Brent Swanson be sure to welcome him to the 2x2 Quartet family when you see him! God is Good All the Time!!!

I like that song and sing it quiet often! God is good even when things seem bad in our lives if we will depend on him the bad will turn good! We got to sing at Bojangles on Thursday Night this week and the crowd was great! Some of them there it was the first time to get to hear Tyson and they LOVED it! We love each one of them at the Bojangles and we look forward to seeing them again soon!

Sunday we were at our good friend Tim Fraziers church Rocky Mount Baptist in Athens, Tn. We had a wonderful service there and had some wonderful food as well! Yes I said food!!! Anyone that knows 2x2 knows we love to eat and the folks at Rocky Mount can cook! It was wonderful!!! The spirit was there all morning during the singing and preaching and the fellowship! We love you all at Rocky Mount and look forward to being in service with you again!

Sunday night we traveled to East Brainard, Tn to Ms. Zelmas Church New Haven Baptist! This was our first trip there and they said it won't be our last! The spirit of God fell down on that place, the alters filled, and we all left feeling renewed! The church is beautiful and the people are too! They made us feel at home and we appreciate that! The Pastor is a great man of God and the choir and choir director is wonderful! They did a great job singing out Praises to the Lord! We love you all and look forward to seeing you again!

Wow it is already August where has the year gone! We went to Buckners this weekend and seen all our friends from there, and had a wonderful time! Let Freedom Ring!

Let Freedom Ring and boy did it Sunday night!! The singing all day was great and the spirit of the Lord was there! Mt. Olive Church of God and the City of Cleveland did a wonderful Job!!! The Singers all day long put their hearts into it and gave their all! Then when the fireworks started it ended with a BANG really lol! The Night was wonderful and we personally want to thank Mt. Olive for inviting us and we look forward to doing it again!

Sunday Morning we were in Decatur, Tn at Faith Baptist and had a wonderful time there as well! The Alters filled and God Moved! We give him all the praise for it!

Thank You Lord!!!

That is all we can say after a weekend like this one was! We started off doing a benefit singing Friday night in Cleveland. There was a sweet spirit there all night! The Meadow Fork Singers kicked it off, followed by Young Praise from Athens, Tn Both groups did a great job! This was our first time hearing Young Praise and I hope it will not be the last! They are a great group and we were blessed by both groups! Then we closed out and the night was wonderful all night long!

Saturday we traveled to Calhoun, Tn and had an Awesome service! The alters were filled and the spirit was flowing through out the building! The people there made us feel welcome and we look forward to being in service with them again soon!

Sunday Morning we went to Hampton Drive here in Cleveland and we had another wonderful service. Again the alters filled and the Spirit was there! We love each of you there and appreciate the meal you prepared for us to eat afterwards!

Sunday night we were in Stevenson, Al and Wow!!!! We got to see our good friend Carlene and catch up with the Train LOL! She is a wonderful person and we appreciate all she does for us! When it got time for church to start there was already a sweet spirit in the building and these people will go to church with you! Jeff got a "little" fired up and threw his hat down and let go and let God!!! They also had food for us and the people made us feel right at home! We love each of you and look forward to being in service with you again real soon!

Again all we can say about the wonderful Services we had this weekend is Thank You Lord!!!
Please pray for us that we will always stay in Gods will and follow his directions in our ministry! I can honestly say that from the beginning of 2x2 Quartet this has and is the most powerful ministry I've personally been in myself. We always try to follow the Lord at our singings and not let ourselves get in the way! We love each of you!!!

There was a sweet spirit in the services this weekend! Thank you Lord for the blessings on everyone! God is good all the time! We enjoyed the homecoming at New Harmony in Dayton! The service was great and so were the people! We look forward to going back there! Next we went to a new city Dunlap Tn. We had a wonderful time there as well at Community Chosen Church of God. We had a wonderful weekend this week. The Lord was with us at every singing and the blessings were flowing! Colby did a great job singing with us and we introduced Tyson on some songs and the people loved it. We have traveled on faith since the beginning of this ministry, and when it is time for a change the only way we know how to look for someone is to pray and seek the Lords guidance. God truly sent brother Tyson and his wife Jessica to our group. The sound is awesome and anointed with the love and grace of God! He has a gift and is using it for the Lord! We invite everyone to come out and enjoy a time of fellowship and praise with us when you can! Tyson will be coming on full sets this weekend and Colby is still going to go and play the piano some with us. What A Weekend!!!

We had a wonderful weekend. We had a great time at New Bethal Baptist in Ringgold, Ga Saturday night. There was a quartet out of the church and the Tenor that sung was 80 years old. He could still hit those notes! The youngest in the group was 70 years old! They were truly a blessing to us all. Everyone there made us feel at home! We look forward to coming back and being in service with them very soon!

Sunday morning we were at Jons home church New Providence Baptist Church. We always love going there and God tied our singing with the preachers message and boy did he move in a great way! We love all of you like family!

Sunday night we were at a church in Rossville, Ga and Jeff threw down his hat. God had a message for the church and little did Jeff know that it was the same message the preacher preached that morning to his people. That just shows you how God will work if we let him. Colby did a great job on the alter call song! The spirit was there with us! Our God is an Awesome God!!!!

On a different note the 2x2 Quartet would like to thank Mr. Colby Goforth! He is filling in with us for a while and let me tell you he does a GREAT JOB! He is only 14 Years old and is a blessing to all who hears him! He has gotten several comments on how good he is doing, and he keeps getting better! Thank You brother for helping us out during this time!

Stephen Roberts our Tenor Singer is leaving the group. He is a great guy and will always be a part of 2x2 Quartet. 3rd Anniversary

Wow, I guess its been too long since we posted. We haven't even mentioned the 3rd Anniversary Concert. Other than a little bit of "tech trouble" with the camera, we had a GREAT GREAT night!!!

The Greesons did not disappoint anyone at all!!! They did such a super job of singing and we could not have asked for any more. The crowd was SUPER, we had a terrific crowd show up and they were into the service from moment # 1. Thank you to everyone for coming!!!

We could never have imagined 3 years ago that we would give out over 500 tickets for the anniversary not to mention the walk ups that came in. Everyone where we have gone has always made us feel welcome and appreciated, and for that we can never thank you all enough!!

The Lord has blessed us in SO many ways, we cannot begin to tell them all. We are just thankful for everything He has done, and we look forward to more down the road.

3 days journey

For over a year now, we have had this past weekend in the books. We make a yearly trip the first Sunday in April to the Cedar Rock Church in Jackson, GA. This is always their homecoming weekend. Last year Pastor Myers announced that we would be joining them for a 3 day weekend instead of just Sunday Morning and afternoon. So last Friday we left around lunchtime and made our way down for the weekend. Pastor asked Jeff to preach on Friday Night and Stephen to preach on Saturday. We sang a few songs each night and those two brought the messages. Aside from getting to enjoy a weekend with the wondeful people there, they took us out Friday to BUCKNERS and then to ALVINS for BBQ on Saturday. Needless to say we had a hard time singing.

We cannot begin to thank the Griffis family enough for allowing us to stay with them and for rolling out the "welcome mat" to all four of us. Also everyone at Cedar Rock always makes us feel so much at home, we really do feel like we are members of their family. Sunday morning Pastor Jim brought a GREAT GREAT message titled "The Open Door Church" that really helped and encouraged us. After a terrific homecoming dinner we sang a full concert and tried out some new songs on the crowd. Everyone seemed to really like the new stuff, and we are going to be trying it out soon at the 3rd anniversary.

Sunday Night we drove over to Griffin, GA to stop in on our old friend Brother Tyson and the folks at New Beginnings Christian Church. As always we were made to feel a part of the family and the Holy Spirit blessed in the service. Jeff brought a great exhorting message and the altars were full. Stephen found a moment to tell a story of inspiration and again the altars filled. Thank God for his touch and his anointing to bring His Word.

We are looking forward to this weekend again next year.

Giving our best

Sunday Night we sang again at the Community Chapel Church of God in Cleveland, TN. This was the 2nd time that we have been there. We enjoyed the benefit service that we sang for them back in early January. We knew that we would be having a great time when we went back. Everyone there is so nice, and they always welcome us with open arms.

We sang as usual and gave our altar call. The altars had folks praying for quite a while so we were able to sing on in the invitation songs for a while. We were able to get around to a few we havent sang in a while and that was nice.

After the altar call that Jeff gave, Stephen introduced "Im Rich" and Daniel outsang himself this time. The folks really rejoiced and enjoyed it enough for 2 encores.

After that we sang just about every closing song we have and everyone seemed to enjoy it more and more. The church gave us a small break (we thought we were done)...and then we came back for 3 more. We sang those three and made Joe happy with singing his song "Wish I Coulda Been There"

We sang really hard, and with all our might. As good as God has been to us, we can give HIM nothing less than our best.

Updating

Well, its been a few weeks since we posted. We haven't had lots going on, we've just been real busy. That's a real good problem to have, and we like it. We have made a couple of trips to home churches in the past couple of weeks. We sang a couple of weeks ago on Sunday Morning at Stephen's home church, and then went that evening to Jon's home church. We enjoyed singing, preaching, and testifying a lot and we enjoyed it even more at home!!!!

The new CD has been well received in the pre-copies that we have been able to get from the studio. We are really enjoying the new songs and singing them. We are learning new songs that will be ready in a few weeks.

We are VERY busy working on the 3rd anniversary concert and we are VERY excited about the response that we have gotten so far from the folks that are planning to come and be with us.

We really are excited and happy that in the month of January we saw 6 folks saved in the services that we sang and preached in. Praise the Lord, we hope to see many more this year.

When God Has His Way

This past weekend the 2x2 Quartet enjoyed a terrific weekend. We left this weekend tired and worn out, but shouting the praises as we thought of the mighty things God did.

Friday Night we were with our good friends "2 Blessed" in East Ridge, TN to celebrate their first anniversary. Phil and David have been good friends to us and we love and apprecite them and their ministry very much. Sharing the stage that night were Bo Cox, Millie Freeman, and Sharon Foskey. All did a very good job. We even got a drop in visit from Ernie Dawson and Herline. Good to see them again as well.

Saturday morning we headed out for Middle Georgia to help in a benefit with our good friends Tyson Roach and the folks at New Beginnings Christian Church. The benefit was held at Pirkle Campgrounds in Griffin, GA. The service was to benefit dear sister Debbie who had a kidney transplant. Little did we know that we would see 2 precious souls saved at the BENEFIT SINGING!!! (Praise God!!!) One of the ladies that accepted the Lord was Debbie's very own sister who had came for the benefit for her sister. HALLELUJAH!!!!

Sunday Morning we sang at the church with Pastor Tyson and the folks at New Beginnings. We sang and Jeff brought the message. Praise God for 2 MORE souls that came to know the Lord!!!

Sunday Night we made our way north and stopped in at the Cloverleaf Baptist Church in Cartersville, GA. We were tired but thankful for the chance to minister. The Pastor asked Stephen to bring the message and take his time preaching. Stephen brought the message, and the church all said it was good to be in service where singing is heartfelt, and preaching is touching and moving to the soul.

We would never have thought that God would save 4 precious souls this weekend. That just goes to show that when you get out of the way, and let God work, and listen to what HE wants, and has to say, then results will be seen. Praise God for all he has done!!!

Ain't That What It's All About

It's just thursday night, but we got some really good news today. We learned that this past weekend in the services that we sang in up in Tellico Plains, TN & Philadelphia TN that there were 2 people saved in the services that we were able to sing and preach in.

We just did our best to follow that guiding of the Holy Spirit, and do what HE would have us to do. We just do that, and leave the rest up to letting folks obey His will. We learned that during the services that 2 folks came down and gave their life to the Lord.

Sometimes its long days, and sometimes wed really like to be sitting down resting, but when we hear news like this, we are reminded why we travel for the Lord.

Even though we love having fun, and we love singing and seeing the smiling faces, and we love to see folks laugh and have a great time and we always hope they enjoy our singing. We are there to see souls saved, and lives touched. AINT THAT WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT???

Terrific Weekend

Well, what a weekend we had. We are VERY tired, but very excited for what God is doing. Friday Night we were at Comunity Chapel Church of God in Cleveland, TN for a benefit singing.
(We will have pictures later on the picture page) We shared the stage with the church singers and our good friends the Trinity Trio. These ladies can really sing, and they have a sweet spirit about them. We always enjoy seeing them and being in service with folks who really love the Lord like they do. Even though it was a benefit we can't remember a time when the folks werent up shouting and praising the Lord. What a great time in the Lord.

We took Saturday off and we had a good reason. Sunday morning we left Cleveland at 6:30am to make our first trip to Tellico Plains, TN. We were at the Long Ridge Baptist Church for the regular Sunday Morning Service. The Sunday School classes were a sign of things to come. We enjoyed the great lessons in Sunday School and really got a blessing from the conversations and the testimonies that everyone shared. In the Sunday Morning service we began to sing and feel a different direction that most times we take the stage. Jeff shared a message with the people about turning our lives over and giving up the burdens and things that hold us all back as Christians, and then we gave the invitation. The altars filled with folks doing business with God as Stephen sang. After an encore of the 2nd verse and the altars still full, Stephen shared the message that was on his heart about giving it all to the Lord and fully surrendering to HIS will.
The church pianist was nice enough to play for Stephen as he broke into an unpracticed version of "I Surrender All". The altars filled again and the Lord had his way as we all received a blessing. We are all thankful for what God ALWAYS does when we just listen to his voice.

Sunday Night we made our way over to Philadelphia TN and the Reed Springs Baptist Church.
What a beautiful building. The renovations they had made to this little church were just great.
We enjoyed the service, and again God had his way in the altar call. We sang, and again Jeff had a message to the people. Jeff really did some good preaching this weekend. We left there very very tired from the long day but very happy about what God was doing. It makes it a lot easier to sing the long day when everyone is so nice, and willing to meet and obey the Holy Spirit.

We can't wait till this coming weekend as we head to Griffin, GA with the folks at New Beginnings Church.

2x2 Quartet

The New CD

Well, we talked and talked and we thought and thought. We discussed names and titles for the New CD. We ran them all over in the van. Some of the ideas actually sounded like they had been ran over in the van...haha. We went through some lines the in songs, and ran over some of the song titles to see if any of them would make for a good CD title. NOTHING...we couldnt come up with anything that we had peace about. We thought we had settled on the title "Nothing Ahead But Amazing Grace" using a line out of one of Daniel's new songs, but when it was all said and done, we couldnt stick with that.

We finally decided that "Live at Philippi" was the best title since thats were we recorded it anyway. We have 11 great songs on this CD and we know we keep on posting about it but WE ARE EXCITED!!!

The new CD is ready and we have copies available for order and are on the product table at all 2x2 singings. Looking forward to what everyone thinks, and we pray its a blessing.

Well, we had planned to be in Griffin, GA with Pastor Tyson and the folks at New Beginnings Church this weekend. God had other plans. The snow & sleet dumped down on them and we werent able to go. We had planned to be with them for a benefit and then stay over for a Sunday Morning service. Pastor Tyson called Jeff and told us that conditions just werent good and that we didnt need to try it. We have it rescheduled for a couple weeks from now, and maybe thats God's plan all along. We hated not getting to go, but we will see them soon. Sometimes the weather and plans bigger than us show us we are not in control. God is, and he knows best.
So this weekend we are not going anywhere. We are staying home. But we will be back out Monday in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. We cant wait.

Tired & Excited

What a day we had today!!! We made our first visit to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in
Spring Town, TN today. We got there just in time to enjoy the homecoming meal. (GREAT TIMING Jeff!!!) After we enjoyed the meal, we set up the sound system and watched as the church filled up. Many of the visiting churches came over to support the singing, and to be in attendance. We really enjoyed meeting everyone and making new friends. After we sang, the church singers and the church youth choir sang a song too. It was good to see the kids so excited to get up and sing for the Lord.

Sunday Night was in Dayton, TN at the White Oak Baptist Church. This is one of our favorite churches to sing in and we always have a good time there. The pastor asked us to start the service singing around the pulpit "We Will Understand It Better By And By". Stephen, Jon & Jeff sang around the pulpit while Daniel played the bass guitar and helped the song that way.
(In case no one knows, Daniel can play a MEAN bass guitar). Then we began singing, preaching and ministering in the way we felt led to do. Stephen and Jeff both brought some good testimonies / messages and we really received a blessing. We always enjoy ourselves at White Oak.

NOW FOR WHY WE ARE EXCITED!!!
We got a few pre-release copies of the New LIVE CD!!! We had 20 copies of it, and they all sold, so we are trying to get our hands on a few more. We look forward to having the whole thing back very soon, but for now the Studio is making us enough "Pre-Release" to go ahead and get it in everyone's hands. So far everyone seems to like the CD. We hope everything goes good, and we get them back very soon.

Studio Work

Today we spent some time in studio working on the new LIVE CD. Its the first one we are doing a LOT of the leg and sound work on ourselves, so we are really making sure to get it right. We were working on the exact balance, mixes and the "fixes" on the CD today. We believe we have it pretty close to what we want.

We are very excited about the songs that are on this CD. We have seen lots of results, and people blessed from the songs that are on this CD already when we have sang them live.

We spent a few hours listening and re-listening to the CD to see how we think its gonna turn out, and Daniel & Jeff got started mixing the CD and getting it ready for duplication. We think its gonna take about 5-6 weeks when we send it off for duplication. Jeff really had some of it sounding pretty good before we broke for the day. We are hoping to have a few PRE-release copies ready pretty soon.

We just wanted to post and say we are EXCITED!!! We cannot wait for the CD to be ready and for everyone to hear it. We are really praying over this CD, and for it to be a blessing to many many people and for souls to be saved because of it.

The Protecting Hand Of God

This year started off with a bang for Stephen. On last Thursday he was sitting waiting to make a left hand turn, when an 18-wheeler rear ended his car. He was not injured, but it does appear the car was totalled. God was watching over him, he was able to drive the car home after the police had filled out the report. To God Be The Glory for watching over Stephen and keeping him safe. Happy New Year to everyone!!! Dont forget you can add your comments to any post to the journal!!! Closing out the year

We sang our last service of the year tonight at the Lakeview Baptist Church in Athens, TN. It was good to be singing and preaching again after the holidays. It was our first visit and service with the good folks there at Lakeview and we were made to feel very welcome.

The folks from Parkway Baptist in Athens brought their Sunday Night Service over and it was very good of them to do so and good to see them again. We enjoyed singing to the folks there at Lakeview and we thank them for the liberty to sing, preach, testify and give the altar call as the Lord leads. The Lord blessed and we really enjoyed ourselves in the Lord. Daniel was really really singing some good bass tonight. We cant remember him sounding any better.

After the service we enjoyed a dinner in the fellowship hall. The folks brought some good Chili, Taco Soup, Potato Soup & Vegetable. So we had 4 choices of good warm soup on a chilly winter night. Of course there were some great desserts as well. We ALL left full and satisfied.

Good to sing in a new place, and very good to meet the good folks there. The Pastor made us feel very welcome and we look forward to seeing them all again. As we move forward, we are thankful for closing out the year on such a good note.

Ok, so we didnt have a fancy title or anything for this one. This is no doubt our favorite time of year. Lots of people love the Christmas Season, and the New Year Holiday. We all have our reasons for loving this time of the year. Whether it be spending time with family, eating the great food, celebrating the birth of our Savior, seeing the old year out and making goals or resolutions for the new year, or just enjoying a few days away from work, or all of the above, we all love this time of year.

The 2x2 Quartet is excited about the upcoming new year as well. In the next few months, we will see a new year come in and we are excited about the year 2008. Due to some sickness and voice trouble we have been a little delayed in getting the new CD's done. We know that God has a purpose and a plan and that we are working on HIS time and not on our own.

We are excited about the new "LIVE" CD and look forward to its release coming up in just a few weeks. It hasnt been officially titled yet, but we have some great names that we are praying over and look forward to everyone getting to hear it. The 3 CD pack "22 Favorites" will also be ready soon, and we cant wait for everyone to get to hear these songs "redone" and updated.

Also coming in April will be our 3RD Anniversary. WOW thats hard to believe, but we are very thankful for what God has done, and look forward to celebrating 3 years singing and preaching His Word.

Also, we are in much prayer for the VIDEO that was postponed due to sickness. God has a plan for that as well, and we look forward to seeing what He has in store.

We look forward to a great 2008, and we cant wait to see what God is gonna do.

An Uplifting Word

As a child of God we all face trials and hard times. No one can escape a word of bad news, or some sort of low point in our lives. What makes us different is that we dont ever have to bear any burden or face a storm alone. We have the Lord, our Savior and friend on our side.

We received a poem written by a member of our newsletter list and friend of the group this week, and we wanted to share it. Sister Gloria Stafford sent this to us and we wanted to share it. We hope its a blessing to everyone who reads it. Thank you Gloria. Here it is:

PRAISE THE LORD ANYHOW

When things seem to look dark, and just don't go your way
Praise the Lord anyhow, this is the only way.

We can't look into the future, so we don't know what tomorrow holds
We do know the Savior guides us, that's just one promise we are told.

Since accidents don't "just happen", to a child of the King
We can rejoice and say hallelujah, what a blessed song to sing.

Christmas time AINT coming!!!!

Folks, let's be honest. Christmas aint coming, ITS ALREADY HERE!!!! Where in the world has 2007 gone?? Really this year has flown by and last night we found ourselves doing a FULL christmas concert in Cleveland, TN.

We had the privilege of singing for the manager's party for the Hardee's restaurants on Wednesday night. What an honor to be invited to provide the special music for this event. We were very happy to attend and meet all the great people. Everyone was so nice to us.

We had a great catered dinner and enjoyed the great meal and fellowship. After the meal we brought the 2x2 version of Christmas singing to the folks in attendance. We sang for a little over 35 minutes closing with "RAIN" because we couldnt get out of there without singing it for those who knew us. We enjoyed ourselves a lot, and hope to see all these folks at their singings very very soon.

THANKSGIVING

At this time of year, we have so much we can look upward and thank God for. We have each battled our fair share of heartaches and burdens. Yet, God brings us through and gives us the strength to face each one. This past weekend Stephen returned to the road with us after a few dates missed due to sickness. He didnt feel 100% and didnt do all the things we come to expect from him, but he hoped everyone could tell he was glad to be back.

We are a family at 2x2 Quartet and when one of us is down or hurting we all feel it. Stephen had never had to miss due to being sick, and we really missed him. (at least thats what we told him, haha)

Seriously, we cannot begin to tell all the great things that God has done. During this time lets all stop and remember that we have nothing outside the grace and goodness of God.

We are reminded of the chorus "Thank you Lord for saving my soul, Thank you Lord for making me whole, thank you Lord for giving to me, Thy great salvation so rich and free"

Busy weekend - Headed South - And a Full Belly

This past weekend we were very very busy. (We like it that way) We sang this past Saturday Night in Apison, TN along with Miss Eva Mae Lefevere!!! It was a huge treat for us to meet this great saint of God and legend in Southern Gospel Music. She has written so many great songs and influenced so many people. What a blessing to meet her.

As soon as we got finished we loaded up and headed south to Middle Georgia to Forsyth, GA. As usual when we arrived Miss Virginia was waiting on us. She always makes sure we are taken care of when we are in the area. After a good nights sleep in a nice warm bed, we awakened to the usual breakfast at Miss Virginia's. We had biscuits, gravy, bacon, eggs, country ham, sausage and all the orange juice we can drink. IM telling you we love it down there.

Then we went over to another one of our favorite churches to sing in and that is New Beginnings Pentecostal Church in Forsyth. We could listen to the band and the song leader there ALL DAY!! These people go to church and we really love being with them in service. The altar call was great, and we really appreciated the liberty and the spirit we felt. On top of all that it was HOMECOMING!!! So we got to eat after the service. (even better)

Then after homecoming we went back to Miss Virginia's house to eat!!! She had steaks, salad and baked potato waiting for us. (told ya we were full) After Stephen grilled the steaks, we ate and boy o boy was it good. By this time we are ready to go sing Sunday Night!!!!

We sang for the first time at the New Providence Baptist Church and made many new friends. We really enjoyed being in the service with them and really look forward to seeing them again soon. The Pastor there is really doing a great work, and we hope to see them grow and prosper in the Lord.

A very good weekend with great traveling mercies from the Lord. To God be the Glory!!!!

The Best There Is

Hey everyone,

Stephen posting here. I had the opportunity Friday Night to see what I believe to be one of the greatest quartets there is or ever has been. I said ONE of the greatest, but definitely up there on my list.

I had the privilege to see Gold City in my hometown of Ringgold, GA. It was obvious from the start to the finish that we were watching and hearing a great bunch of guys. The testimonies, the songs and the invitation was ALL very good. I noticed too that after every song they would look to the piano player and tell him what was next. Know what that means?? NO PROGRAM.

They also sang their hearts out and I really felt the spirit the entire time. If you ever have a chance to hear these guys, DONT miss it. They truly are one of the best quartets or groups out there today.

LIVE RECORDING

The 2x2 Quartet is VERY EXCITED about the new CD that we recorded last week at Philippi Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. We really believe that these are the songs that God wanted us to record and that many many people are going to be blessed as a result of hearing what God has done on this recording. The congregation was very into the service and we appreciate them for allowing us to record in their Sunday Morning Worship Service. We hope to have the recording ready to go very very soon. We are EXCITED!!!!

Well, It's been a while since we posted, and we really need to do a better job of that. Anyway, things have been going good for us. We've been busy as usual singing, and have been working a lot towards planning the new CD's that we will be having ready very soon.

The Studio project "22 Favorites" hit a snag when the recording studio had some equipment go down. We are back up and recording, and should be finishing up with it in the next couple of weeks, then we will send it for duplicating.

We are excited about the new "LIVE" CD that we will be recording next Sunday morning at Philippi Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. We think this is gonna be the best CD we have made yet. We love the songs that are on it, and we think everyone else is gonna love it to. We really think its gonna be a blessing to everyone who hears it.
